4h left

About an hour ago i handed in the ccm exam. It took me about 30 min to go throu all the questions twice. Im not sure if it was easy or if i didnt know better.
In consistency with the previous midterm the majority of the responses were, or at least i think, E or A, i.e. All of the above or i agree!!

For those wondering, last night was fun.
We met up in Tunus, benoit (who was late), ayse, giorgio and i. From there we walked to at greek restaurant, with a name that sounded slightly spanish, but of course i dont remember.
There we met up with ayse's friends.
A lot of starters were ordered. I ate a lot, especially bread (because i dont Believe in the stupid theory that bread makes you fat, stupidities, bread is amazing).
For me that would have been enough, but of course this was not the case.

At some point the question of which main course we wanted was asked: chicken or beef!?
I decided that i was more or less indifferent in between those two and said "whatever you want".

We continue talking, taking pictures and listening to two men playin what i, at first thought (and what it did sound like) was typical greek music.
This assumption made sense since we were in a greek place.
What i had forgotten was that turks arent too fond of the greek or greece.
The music they played was turkish.

All of a sudden i smell fish and notice the waitors storming in with 7 plates of fish, and to my horror they start serving it to us, wth, there had been no talk about fish, werent the options chicken or meat?
Oh well, luckly i had stuffed myself with bread n salad. A bit sad thou since i like greek food, and it also feels like €25 for some salad, bread, fruit n wine is a bit over the top.
But i did have a really good time so it was definetly worth it.

God, this has taken me 40min to write.

Will upload some photos later.

I'm a queen

Or at least that's what's on Spotify right now.
Bohemeian Rapsody just finished n now Don't stop me now.

So in a very short amount of time a lot has happened.

* I super glued my finger, thou it's not stuck to anything, I now have some kinda second skin.

So I have a question to all you engineers out there (You must use glue when you build things?! Especially the super sticky one, I mean in order to get those huge things to stick together) How the hell to you get it away without ripping off the skin (real) underneath? I would appreciate a quick response. And I know you're quite a few reading this, someone has to know.

* I also read up on the happenings of today. The world news. Le Monde, DN, Le Parisien, Aftonbladet n Expressen. The two latter because their news are ridiculously random.

Not only have I learnt that most airports in Europe are now open, but also that the youngest princess in Sweden is having relationship problems (Headline of Expressen) and that there is no risk in using a gel when performing oralsex (yes, very liberal, welcome to Sweden).

* Painted my toe nails. They needed some additional color. And of course I used the red O.P.I one, this, not only because I like red, but mostly because I recieved two for christmas; once again, thank you Fredrik n Anna-Karin. The only problem would be that I already had the exact same color.
This means that I have 3 O.P.I's, red. I do my nails once or twice a week, but try to change color.
The question is how long time it will take to finish the three?

* I called my dad. He's out on the (a) site. I am, if not mentioned before, a bit jealous. Wouldn't mind being there, at least for a while. This for various reasons (actually only one, but I think I sound smarter if I say various, plus then I don't have to explain)

* I laughed by myself in the shower. Not because there was anything in there that was particulary funny, but because of what I wrote about earlier.
Those sheeps, what if those would have been me bullshitting about random stuff! hihi, that made me laugh. Mostly the sheep part. Sheeps are funny.

* I have been listening to some nice music; Mana, Bacilos, while drinking a glass (a bit too full) of red wine.

So now you might be wondering when I had time to study. Well I found the time. Effective as I am I read slides while painting my nails, and drank some wine at the same time. Multitasking at its essence.

Maybe, but only maybe, I haven't read enough.
But there is still time. Not much thou.
Am leaving for dinner with some people from school (Benoit, Ayse, Giorgio, Pierre etc.) in 40 min.
I will try to come home early.
Emphasizing on try.

Now I will continue practising the art of multitasking: Wine, slides and enjoying the music.

The picture up there is in order for you to see my "tan" (sun burn).

1 over, 3 to go

The exam today went fine.
There was only one question to which I could not find the ccorresponding article(s).
I made some type of logic out of my answer anyways.

I don't know if I ever wrote about it here, but for the 15 first articles we had to read I was an increadibly effective and serious student and made summaries.

At some point I sent these summaries to Benoit since he had fallen a bit behind on his readings (he hadn't read a single one of them until very recently).

After the exam today I went out for, what some (read me), would call a celebratory cigarette.

It was a very good one, for those who wondered.

While I was standing there, enjoying the sun, a girl started talking to me about the exam. To be honest I had never seen her before, not in class nor anywhere else.
And there, all of a sudden, bluntly, she asks me if I'm the girl who had prepared the summaries.
I told her I wasn't sure; that, effectivly, I had prepared summaries, but that as far as I knew (know) I hadn't shared them with anybody BUT Benoit.

She asked for my name, for a split second I felt like making one up (because sometimes that's fun) but no one was there to witness my humor (except for her, but yeah... no).
On hearing my name she confirmed that I was the exchange student who had (kindly) shared my precious knowledge with well, many other students.

So when Benoit came outside this had to be cleared up.
Benoit confessed to having shared them with Akin, who obviously shared then with someone (could be plural) else who in turn shared them with another 6-7 people.
And who knows how long that went on for.

Quite hilarious I have to say. I am still a bit amazed that people used my summaries (they're not that good).

Anywho, today it was supposed to be rainy.
It is not. And since I am not as intelligent as I might seem (to the rest of the students in innovation managament) I decided that it would be a good idea to study for the CCM exam out on the blacony, in a bikini.
This was decided EVEN THOU I still have some sort of weird sun burn (concentrated on my nose). Sometimes I amaze myself with how I ignore my own advice on wellbeing.

My ass hurts btw... I walked down to Tunus two days in a row and now my "muscles" ace as hell. It feels as if thou I'm walking around like duck.

Oh well... This post was only in order for me to get a break from CCM. Now I gotta get back to that.
But I will tell you some more anecdotes about the Ankara life before going out. I have something on my mind... so...

Ps. The picture of this post is from the trip to Salen in Jan. It's quite funny.

Good times

I was supposed to go over the 39 innovation articles before the "sleep train" (as my pre-school teacher said) came to pick me up.

# Since the word supposed is present in the previous paragraph, and well, also because most of you know me, I hope you understand that the next paragraph will start with a but.

But, I got distracted by a conversation on skype.
Remembering and missing the good old days of popcorn, sparkling wine and Bon Iver is now what is left after hanging up.

Right now I'm hanging out in the bathtub, it's quite nice.
Warm, bubbly and comforting.

Figured I would take a well deserved half hour break of my already busy and emotional day.

Watch the latest episode of whatever show.

Tomorrow will be an interesting day:
Exam
Lunch with Benoit to talk about the exam
Study for the CCM exam
Go out to dinner with the boys in order to forget exams exist

Found this article in a swe paper
http://www.aftonbladet.se/wendela/article6988067.ab
It's about how more and more schools in the US forbid any type of touching between students with hands... including hugs and high fives...
For those of you who don't speak swedish, use google translate.

Good night...

A busy student

It's been a while since I pretended to be a serious student.
Today I feel increadibly proud of myself, I even went to Spanish class!
Blew her mind with my amazing knowledge in this old latin language, it was breath taking.
I bent the verb "Dormir" in present and in infinitiv, extremly advanced as you might tell.

Before the class started the guy, with a name I can never remember, started talking to Eray and me, he's really nice.
All of a sudden he looks at me weirdly and says: Your face, it's different.(Or something like that) referring to the red nose.
I didn't appreciate it. Eray laughed.
Eray laughed again when going through the security check him and Alper saw my student ID picture on the screen, it is not pretty.
Firat told me the ESN people thought I would be a huge, bald lesibian when they first saw the picture.

I am not.

I could be, but I'm not.

I think all those who have seen my previous attempts at posing for a student ID shouln't be surprised about this.

After spanish I went to the library. I finished with whatever I had left of innovation and decided to move on to Macro (the weekly quiz).

The week before the spring break the teacher said the next chapter we would do was chp 15. But as a "homework" we had some parts of chp 11.
So having started with 5 pages of the 11th chap I went on to thoroughly study the 15th, only to be informed when arriving to class that the quiz was on chp 12.
My bad.

Next time I'll pay more attention.

After class I headed back to the city accompanied by Benoit.
It was interesting.
We had dinner and I got a lot of information about things/people and situations.

He also admited to reading this blog, but only when the posts aren't too long.
So I will try to keep it short.

I will end this one with a quote.

"Fresh as an ocean breeze, unforgettable as an old friend"
- Zipper file case
(this is actually the "slogan" of a zipper case, saw it today in class. I have to say that they opened my eyes when it comes to zipper cases).

Will write more later... only to make sure Benoit reads these I decided to write two shorter ones.

Red

Since the weather was so good today Benoit and I had lunch out in the open, the lawn infront of the cafeteria.
We had a Kumpir (the Turkish version of baked potato) each while enjoying the sun.

Benoit left me after a while to go pay for a trip and to go work out.
He said he would be back.
I didn't see him again.
Swedish as I am I took the oportunity of being in the sun and stayed there for 2½h.
This was NOT a good idea.
I am now very red (hence the title of this post)

While sitting there I saw a Turkish hippie and a girl with orange hair, I'm not a fan of orange, especially not as a hair color!

The girl had a BMI slightly higher than mine (maybe +20) and she had a very deep voice. I have made the observation that women with a slightly higher BMI than I (See above) tend to have this.
So while (supposly) reading about disruptive innovations and how to manage them I let my mind "fly away" for a while.

How come these women have deeper voices? If it is related to their body mass, would it (the voice) become higher as the extra weight is lost???
I wouldn't mind getting a deeper voice, maybe not on behalf of my BMI thou!

Today I also realized that it is possible for a person to be completely cut off the world.
Someone today asked us (some people in class) why their friend had called yesterday telling them that it wasn't possible to fly back to Europe from Istanbul? Did we know what was up with that?

Hmhm, to start with I thought it was a joke. We quickly realized that no. Some people just don't read the news.

Now, this week I have 3 exmas (+1 since I missed Micro last week).
Innovation management - wednesday (we can bring the book and any notes we wish)
Cross-cultural management - thursday (a multiple choice exam)
Micro - oh well... no comment.

Anywho, am actually studying and have finished the 39 articles for wednesday. Now I'm just stealing Benoit's idea of making a list of key words so that I can easly find the article needed during the exam.
I shall continue with that.

Btw, just got back from dinner; A Bagel. It was amazing. We went to Tribecca.

Have an awesome night...

Tomorrow it's raining, I hope. My body is on fire.

A lake n a bit of BBQd meat

Today it's sunday. I'm not a huge fan of sundays. They're fun, but you always have in mind that tomorrow monday comes, I am sure a lot of people would agree with me on this.

The weather here in Ankara was amazing this weekend. Sunny, around 25 (if not more, in the sun)and not too windy, not even up on our balcony.

I wanted to enjoy this amazing weather, but my cough wanted otherwise, it kept me up all night, and when I finally managed to fall asleep it decided to wake me up at 6 am (wtf is up with that, who wakes up at 6 am on a sunday?). Well, because of this throat related problem I wasn't able to get out of bed until 12.30.

I slowly moved myself out on the balcony, bikini on, and assumed that, since it's god's day n all, we would take it easy n I could get some more color (read sun burn).

Of course my dad had big things in mind for this lovely day, none of which included anything I wanted to do (be in the sun).

So we went to McDonalds, left before even gettin into the place since wallets were forgotten.
So we went to Burger King instead. (I like Burger King!)
Two Whopper Jrs later and off we were.
Where to!? How would I know!?
I thought that my dad had heard my prayers about seeing a bit more of the beautiful country Turkey (not that I know if it's beautiful or not since I haven't seen shit).
I belived this until he told me:

"This place is called ***, this is where all the furniture stores are."(Kim-Erik, 2010).
Do I care!?
Not really... BUT I had no option.

Apperantly we were hunting for the "perfect bbq table" (Kim-Erik, 2010).

Turks don't use bbq tables, hence there are none for sale.
We bought another table, or actually, it was 3 tables; Tripp, trapp, trull...

On our way back home I tried to give him some hints about my wishes of seeing the sea (go to the beach).
He took me to a lake 15min out of Ankara, Gölbaşı. There's a picture underneath (copyright of some stranger)
It was cute, a lot of people enjoying the sun while bbq'ing.
We sat down on a bench, watched the people in the rowing boats for about 5 min... some of us thought the sun was to warm.

We went home.

Back home I tried to continue gettin through the last Innovation management articles, I read 2½... the ½ meaning skimming through boring parts of one before telling myself I deserved a break.

During my break meat was prepared for the bbq, I couldn't just let my dad do everything by himself! So I set my own "issues" aside and helped him prepare; I set the table and opened the wine, I also took the pictures you can see.

To food was good, the wine was good and the weather was awesome. Still sunny, no wind. We sat there and watched the sunset.

Now I'm back in my room. Finally unpacked the bags from the visit to Swe and also did some laundry.

A highly productive day.

Enough about me.

I assume you all heard about the ash-cloud that covers most parts of Europe at the moment.

Finally today airports in northern Sweden could open, but according to some sources, another cloud will head over on Monday/Tuesday and they will have to close everything again.

I am very lucky that I came back last weekend (Yes, a bit is still about me, this is my blog after all).
Too bad Bettina wants to come back to Turkey, but all these ashes makes it quite difficult.

Will read up on this a bit more. I find it quite interesting. Mostly how the airlines will make it through or how passengers will get refunded, if they will at all.
About airlines, I read somewhere SAS (Scandinavian airlines) will fire around 2000 employees as a reaction to this.
I don't really understand. As I said, I wanna read up on this a bit.

Oh, n also. My dad said that Bulgaria closed their airports today.
Does that mean the ashes are coming this way?
Would that imply that, even thou airline trafficking would be safe in the northern parts of Europe by the end of the week, that the southern parts would have to close!?

Why I even care about this is because Bettina is supposed to come back soon.

To b read about.
