Tuesday

I feel worse today.
The fever is worse, the throat is worse and the nose is worse.

Woke up at 9 the first time. Thought I felt so, so... fell back asleep without me noticing it, woke up now, at 12.30 and feel even worse.

Btw, I hate the stupid cars outside my window.
Sometimes big trucks pass by, and they are so heavy that it vibrates here inside my room.
I do not fancy this very much.

I will now try to go back to rest, and who knows, maybe fall asleep for a while.

Inception

Good Morning everyone over at the Old Continent...
Here in Mexico I just got back from the movies, Inception to be exact.
I am sure it is an awesome movie when not watched while being completely f**ked up. The grade I give it, watching it while being completely f**ked up is: Yeah, why not again.
I actually most likely will need to watch it again, it appears that I closed my eyes for some moments: Head on Memo and feet on Patrick.
This probably annoyed the hell out of them, but I was more or less comfortable.

Coming back home I self medicated a bit.
Took the pill Memo's mom told me to, and also drank a tiny shot of cough syrup, the one I gladly and happily bought is not to recommend, taste wise. Its effectiveness will be graded in the morning, based on how much sleep I will get.

I was thinking about maybe writing a bit in general about how Guadalajara is. I will probably do this tomorrow, when it's not 1.30 am!!

Have a great day

Back to real life

This weekend was really amazing.
It was so nice getting away for a bit, relax and enjoy the sun.

The days were spent by the pool, in the water, just enjoying, the nights were enjoyed by taking it easy,  having fun, talking and listening to music.

I didn't see much to the city Vallarta itself, but just a bit.
Maybe some other time, who knows.

Sitting in the car going back to Gdl, my throat started hurting, it was weird, because it was so sudden, from there it slowly went on to me being super cold.
Today I am not feeling my best. Luckily I can take it pretty easy on Mondays.
Plus, tonight I am going to the movies; Inception, I hope it will be nice.

Have a awesome start of the new week

Puerto Vallarta

Typical sidewalk here in GDL
Today we're going on a beach adventure with Memo!
He's taking us to his place in Vallarta.

I am very much looking forward to it; laying by the pool, spending time with friends, can't get better I think!
Let's just hope Patrick's fever has disappeard so that he can come along!

I've made my bed, packed my bag (did not forget sun screen this time!), and am ready to leave.
Although, we're not leaving for another few hours!

Btw, a few days ago, I mentioned that we've all had problems using our bank cards.
Eh, well... none of us can get a hold of money through them right now.
I am so pissed.
6 months in Turkey and I never had a single problem with my card, a month in Mexico and I can't use it. I sent Swebank an angry email.
Hoping it will start working soon again, because it might be because I paid off my entire rent last week, that was quite a bit of money.

Anyways, my sleeping problem persists even if I got some "not so strong" sleeping pills yesterday. I still couldn't sleep, and when I finally did, I woke up at 6.50 for no reasons, having troubles to fall asleep again...
oh well, now I will stop worrying, at least for the weekend, because I need to relax!

Sleep Deprived

Another day is slowly passing by, although it isn't as slowly as I would want to.
Los Cabos
Time passes very fast down here in South North America.

I haven't been feeling too well today, something that could be a fever is starting to come along and I am very tired.
This could of course be because, although I was exhausted last night, I couldn't fall asleep... again.
Still kinda hoping that it will turn back to normal soon, but seems as if though this is one of those times when it will go on for a while.

I am very much looking forward to when Mr. Dan is coming down here, in 10 days, I believe it is.
After that I will have some quite interesting weeks, with a lot of travel.

Guadalajara -> Los Cabos -> Gudalajara -> West Palm Beach -> Chicago -> Guadalajara

Not bad I think... They are celebrating the bicentenario here in Mexico, which of course I am very grateful for since it allows me to travel a bit, I would also like to thank the Ramadan holiday back in Turkey which makes it possible for Mr. Dan to travel all the way here!
And last, but not least, thank you Dave Matthews Band for having a concert up in Chicago that I can go to.

Let's just hope I will be able to sleep by then so that I don't walk around tired, grumpy and anxious!

Back to relaxing now

The Middle

The week keeps on going and it's almost over already.
My awesome Lasagna
It passed very fast!

On Monday we had a small get-together. We celebrated Linnea and Memo's birthdays. And in what better way would a birthday be celebrated but with cake and presents!?
Talloz and I took a small tour to Gran Plaza to acquire some gifts; pink slippers for Memo, and a book for Linnea.
Whereas Patrick made a "kladdkaka", aka "the calorie bomb"! We had a nice night talking and watching stupid Youtube clips.

Yesterday I got some type of epiphany and decided to cook; I made a Lasagna. According to the judges; Patrick, Daniel, Linnea, Memo and his friend it was really good. We finished it all... and were over-full for the rest of the night!

Today has been a calm day consisting of relaxing the entire day, and will consist of a big clean up and most likely some cooking.
If the ATM doesn't spit out my card again. Cross your fingers!

Other than that I've had issues with falling asleep again. I have to say  that it really does suck.
I lay there for hours, trying not to do anything else but sleep.
We'll see what it progresses to this time, but hopefully it doesn't make my anxiety worse again, which it has a tendency to do when it goes on for a while.

Hmhm, just got the idea of cooking for Patrick today, and the others too of course. This is because poor Patrick isn't feeling so well today and I think it might be appreciated to get a cooked meal... But I will have to go and ask.

Tomorrow I am meeting up with my favorite Mexican Edgar. We have a few things to talk about, or I have a few things I want to talk to him about. Plus I haven't seen him in a while, I miss him a bit!

So btw, this weekend I am going to the beach, Puerto Vallarta. Memo has a place there so we've all been invited to go and spend some time there, hang out by the pool and maybe even go check out a water fall!

To end this post I give you a pretty funny picture of my dear Patrick.

Enjoy

Dude...

Hola!
How was your weekends?

For me it consisted of some parties; very nice btw but also a few "fucked up" moments.
As you might know the guys went to "La llorona" on Friday, leaving me all alone.
This beach has one of the strongest currents... everyone they talked to told them to be very careful.
Well, sadly, and something that is completely unbelievable, a French girl drowned.
Horrible, horrible...
Out of respect for her and her family I wont write anything else about that.

All though any continuation of this post seems disrespectful, in some weird way life goes on and people gotta keep on living.

Saturday we celebrated Memo's birthday in a bar called Jack's or something... the live band was awesome!
I also went to the pool on Saturday, got myself a bit of a sun burn but hey, it will turn dark soon enough.

Other than that, tomorrow wake up call at 7 a.m and off we are to the immigrations office, we will enjoy a few hours of the Mexican bureaucracy and then hopefully I will have time to go to yoga.

It's pretty late now, so I will continue to listen to "Finding Nemo" and hopefully fall asleep!

Viernes...

Daniel's self portrait
Last week it was Friday the 13th, today it's not.
Last week nothing bad happened to me on the Friday, I bet you that today it will!

The day hasn't been too exciting so far.
The usual; 1h walk, shower, now I am listening to Maná, very nice I have to say, of course accompanied by a cold bottle of Coke Zero and some other accessories, not to be mentioned here since I've bragged about quitting, anywho, it's Friday, and I am alone!
The only thing missing is my friend Wine!

No specific plans for tonight, Talloz woke me up this morning telling me he would call back later with some plans for tonight, I was also hoping on meeting up with Juan Luis since he is leaving soon and we usually don't have that many occasions to meet up.

Other than that we have acquired a few new wall ornaments; Daniels x-ray and his self portrait.
Daniel's X-rays
Amazing, interesting and intriguing art.
The self portrait was made because he was asked to for one of his (university) classes.
The x-ray was ordered by Aldo since Daniels knee was still hurting 8 days after "the incident".
Anywho, hopefully he will be better soon, Aldo said maybe 1 month of recovery!

After my walk I watched "Grey Gardens" a movie I've tried to finish for the past week. Now, it's not a bad movie, when I say tried to watch it, I mean that I usually listen to a movie or a show while trying to fall asleep, "Grey Gardens" was this weeks choice.
It's with Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lang, you should watch it, it's a sad (not as crying, but upsetting) story.

Now I will do my nails, which is very much needed!

Almost the weekend

Me & the Clown that made my bunny rabbit!
A conclusion some of you might have made; today was a tough day!
Let's just say I wasn't on top of my game!

Had a pretty nice, yet rather hard, yoga session today. We went from easy (if you read Tuesday's post) to a bit more complicated. Now it might have been a bit more complicated because of the amounts of beers taken in last night.
Bending over, trying to touch your knees is NOT recommended "the day after"! When you stand back up you become very dizzy, which isn't too good when doing yoga since it's all about balance and stuff.

I came directly back home in order to have a nice long skype session with Mr. Dan. Nice, as always. Had to hang up after a while thou because the hunger kicked in, went to get a burger at Kelly's...
They have amazing burgers. It's this tiny little place, that only sells cheeseburgers or burger, nada mas!
Daniel and I ate, and left happy and content!

Also, I have now paid my entire rent for my stay here in Mexico (to be pronounced with the Mexican accent!), feels good, at least, in this way, I am sure to have a place to sleep in!

While taking my second shower Juan Luis and Aldo showed up for some quality time... it was nice, nothing too crazy, a few beers!

Having a few butter popcorns now, about to finish a home work that needs to be done by tomorrow.
Then it's the weekend!
The flatmates are going to the beach, so I will be hanging out here alone. Hopefully I will see Juan Luis before he leaves and maybe I will be introduced to Edgar's mom!!

Anywho, I'll be keeping you posted!

A small crack

A long day today...

It ended up in a nigh club, too many beers (I stuck to beers, being responsible and all).

Now I'm tired...

Uneventful

Edgar at the taco stand last night
Today was a pretty uneventful day after my late wake up.

Got my little behind to school in time for yoga class. It was much better than the class I took last week. Much more stretching, and although it was intense, it was a bit more doable and more like the yoga I used to do in my younger years.

I left yoga a bit early to have time to change and get ready for the 14.30 class; International Intelligence Markets.
It was nice.
The whole class is now informed about the fact that I have a boyfriend living in Turkey. This would not be because I like to tell complete strangers about my current relationship status, but because one of the guys asked me, the teacher heard and the discussion was off to become the entertainment of the rest of the class as well.

About the school here in Mexico, it is not difficult in the same sense as the Swedish ones are.
As in, it is "difficult" to feel obliged to go to every single class, and having quite a few homeworks for each and every lesson, but after having had my first few classes where the homework was checked; the difficulty level, and what they expect from a student isn't as high as "back home".
For example: today we had a quiz in my International Logistics class. We were supposed to have read chapter 1-2. Which of course, since I hadn't discovered the magic world of black board until late last night, I knew about. So after skimming through the two chapters, i.e. reading the titles etc. I thought that I would have difficulties answering the questions.
This was not at all the case, when the teacher asked what SKU was, she didn't want the definition of the word, or what it means, but she just wanted us to write that it means Stock Keeping Unit.
This would not be an acceptable answer to any Swedish quiz or exam.

Anywho, I had a quick visit home in the afternoon between classes, in the beginning it was in order to pick up the logistics book (because it was no where to be found at the library), but ended up being to watch Dr. Aldo in action.
Daniel hurt his knee last week in some sort of a soccer accident, and it hasn't gotten better.
Dr. Aldo being Juan Luis' friend, came to his rescue and told him to go get some x-rays done and prescribed some pills and gel.
Lucky for me Aldo and JL decided to give me a ride back to school so that was 70 pesos less for me to spend... this means that I owe them a few beers!

Just got back home and will be doing some homeworks all night, hoping to finish it off with an episode of some undefined series.
But first and foremost, I am going to get some vegetarian sushis with Patrick, YAY!!!

Have a great morning, or day or night, depending on where in the world you are.

Again!

Overslept again! What are the odds!
Well, pretty high when you can't fall asleep the night before I suppose.

Got some studying done last night after tacos, not a bad day I have to say.

Now I am off to school to copy some articles, do some yoga, then attend a couple of classes, finishing of this hopefully beautiful day with a soccer game.
I finish classes at 22/10 which is horrifying, but I can do it!!!

Hope you all will have a good day.

Tacos

Despite the amazingly abrupt start of the day, the following part of it has been rather "calm".
The citation marks means that not much has happened, as of moving around or seeing people.

I went to class, well prepared and alert, as the good student I am. Got myself accepted into a group for the group work that has to be done and even came up with the suggestion of which JV we should work on; my (and the only) suggestion was Air France - KLM.
Figure it could be a bit interesting to see how that one came about.
Anywho, Jorge gave me a ride home and he is almost my friend with a pool now.
- For those who haven't spoken to me in a while, most of you, my mission in this "collocation" is to find a friend with a pool, i.e. someone to whom we can go on a warm afternoon, enjoying a fresh pool, without feeling as if thou we're intruding.
Now Jorge doesn't have a pool of his own here in the city, but he is a member of the country club, which, as you might have understood, has a pool.
Hopefully I can satisfy my co-residents need of a refreshing pool soon!

Back home I took my 45 min walk, making it slightly more interesting by taking some pictures of buildings I've seen when walking before, some of these can be enjoyed here, whereas the rest will be on Flickr (there's a link to your left).

The walk today was pretty sweaty, which could either be because of the physical work or because of the afternoon heat, I will of course say it was the former, but you can all decide that for yourselves!

So sweaty and physically tired I had a several hour conversation with Mr Dan, both deciding and un-deciding (my invention) things.
Nothing that y'all should be worried about. Cassia, Nastia, Edgar and Carlos; you guys will still be my bridesmaids, but well... I mean, without going into detail - because I do want to keep certain things private - life is still good and treats me fine!
He will be coming down here on Sep 5th, leaving a week later, me flying up to Palm Beach on the 15th staying there for a few days.
It will be awesome!

Since we hung up I took a well deserved, if not more; needed, shower and got myself some carrots and cucumbers as a snack before Edgar's picking me up for TACOS (hence the title).

Have a nice night or morning, where ever you are - Bisous

The Best start of the week

What would be the ideal way to start off a week!?
Probably not by oversleeping, waking up 10 before having to leave, because you couldn't fall asleep the night before.

And believe me, I tried. I tried falling asleep already at 11.30, things came up, all of a sudden it was midnight and other things came up.
Finally it was 2 am and I said ENOUGH, and know for a fact I didn't fall asleep until 2.30.
So my morning walk will today become an afternoon walk.

Right now  I am hoping that the bright red pillow marks on my cheek will disappear soon, hopefully within the next 50 min.

Hope you're weeks started in a better way than mine.

Sunday update

Life is hectic down here in Gdl.
Cousins to see, friends to catch up with, time to recover from the two previous.

Thursday me and the boys went over to Juan Luis's friends house, had some beers and enjoyed the company of each other.
I told you about the pool on campus no?
Carl, aka Erick, came down to Gdl this week to see the Chivas game, decided to stay a few days extra, so he ended up at a Sushi/burger/pizza place, across from the Tec entrance, drinking beers with me.
Edgar had a 3h class, and Carl and I proved that many beers can disappear in that short amount of time.
On we went to get some more and the night had taken off.

Friday I had difficulties waking up with the alarm at 10 and decided to snooze until 12.30. Class started at 2.30 so it was all good and Patrick, Linnea and I slowly moved towards Tec.
Not only was it slowly because I had had a pretty late night, but also because Linnea and I did Yoga on thursday and our legs were (and in my case, still are) killing us!
Rob. Juan Luis, Aldo, and me
Anywho, class was pain free, and while the rest of the flat mates went to Vallarta, I stayed behind.
Went home, took it easy, recuperais a little bit and off I was on new adventures.
Aldo and Juan Luis came to pick me up and a few hours later we finally arrived to the bar.
We all had a nice night, which ended up in my house.
It was all good!

Today it's Sunday and Edgar and I watched the America's game.
We had Chicken wings, chips, Jamon Serrano and a lot of coke.
A perfect sunday.
I also got to talk to My dad and Bettina, my mom and Mr. Dan.

A night was also spent drinking beers, listening to some music on spotify and talking about life con Edgar. At some point we had a 2h conversation with Carl on skype, it was fun.
He's a really really good piano player. Although Edgar destroyed the mood. (0;
He was tipsy and asked for weird songs!

Have fun now, and enjoy the week.
My countdown has started, 3 weeks until I get to see el amor de mi vida again!

A week

The first week of classes is almost over and I am already over classes, witty I know!

After quite a few changes to the original schedule I now managed to figure one out that is pretty OK, except for Wednesdays; 9h of classes, from 10 a.m all the freaking way till 9 p.m.
I also, as you know, need to keep up with the bet, meaning that I had to wake up at 7.30 this morning to take my daily walk.
The walk went fine, with only one minor set back - tripping over one of the many huge roots on the sidewalk while trying to write my morning mood email to Dan, but it was ok, because no one saw me.

Anywho, after a pretty awesome weekend down in Manzanillo at the beach, I met up with the cousin Juan Luis here in Guadalajara.
It was pretty cool to see him, hadn't met up with him since Jan 2009.
We went for the tomato juice-clams-spices-beer which is some kind of specialty here in Mexico.
We then went to his friends Aldo's house to have some wine, which it turns out he made himself; well, at his vineyard in Baja California.

Now I am trying to digest the two HUGE yet awesome burgers Patrick cooked us.
It feels as if thou my stomach is exploding and I even had to smoke a cigarette to make it feel better.

Considering my extremely long day as wells as the HUGE burger I just had I am now pretty exhausted.
In a few days, maybe tomorrow, I will upload some pictures on Facebook from my recent adventures.

Well, for all of you wondering, I am still alive. I know I haven't been the best at keeping in touch these past few weeks, but I hope you all understand that it has been a bit hectic since I left Turkey, but I am hoping that it will calm down next week.

Bisous les amours!

Hell

Bubble kid at the mall
Been feeling iffy since yesterday, don't know what it is.
Maybe a late weird jet-lag, or the humidity, or just the fact that it's (yet another) new place.

So I registered for classes today.
I have a pretty ok schedule, I think I have two "early" mornings, starting at 8.30, one day I only have afternoon classes and on Wednesdays only one class.
It will be ok I hope.
The policy here in Mexico is that you have to attend all classes.
There is some kinda system of how you can skip, in total, two weeks of classes, but it was very complicated.
Being sick doesn't really count as an excuse for an absence, sometimes even hospital stays don't count as an excuse.
It will be tough.
Luckily we are four students living together, so we can help each other out with that.

Otherwise not much has happened. I am super tired and will rest for a while.

Also, those waiting for me to write on fb... at some point I will.
Right now I just don't feel like even checking it, but hopefully soon, be patient.

A New Life

Campus at Tec.
Today was the first day at the Mexican university, from now on referred to as Tec.
It was tough waking up this morning; not only because it was the first day back "in school" after the vacation, but also because Mr. Dan left this morning at 4 a.m.
It was difficult having him leave; right now I need him a bit more than usually and I know that he feels that he wants to be close(er) to me.
Right now that is not an option, so I will, patiently, have to wait until mid September to be able to spend some time with him again.
It has been decided that we will try to meet up about once a month, either somewhere in the States or here in Mexico, we both think that there's no way not to do it any other way.

Carefully listening
Anywho, so today we had our introduction day, listening to university employees thinking they're funny although they are the complete opposite.
Also in Mexico, they believe that it is totally appropriate to keep students in an auditorium from 9.30 a.m until 1 p.m without a break the first day of the semester.
Swedish students as we are we took breaks in order to make it through.
We were very innovative when coming up with reasons to leave the room; bathroom break, smoking break (Patrick), "accompagnement" (company) of smoker on his break, phone calls, a walk in the sun, relaxing in the sun, more bathroom breaks... we kept busy.
Playing around on campus

The campus here is nice, palm trees, a lot of sports facilities (which I couldn't care less about), A POOL (!, although it can only be used to swim in, not to lay on an air mattress and enjoy the warm weather),(you also need to wear a swim-cap if you have long hair) = I will not be going to the pool!

Other things that have kept me occupied today.
* Two trips to the supermarket
* A visit at the drugstore
* Left the tomato stained dress at the dry cleaners
* Took a long, fast walk in the sun
* Met up with Edgar

Now I will sleep, because I am exhausted.
