Sleeping

This weekend I slept.
I went to bed early every night.
I mean early as in latest 10.

Life is tough - or working as a nursery school teacher and having your daughter being transferred to your class is exhausting.
It is hell.
Any parent here can only imagine how your (almost) 2 year old would react if you paid attention to 10 other children, and not to your child.

My new mantra:

patience - breath - patience - breath

We spent the weekend signing a health insurance for Sophia and I.
Shopping for gifts (Christmas and birthday).
Family bbq/ birthday bash - i.e. the 76 year old aunts birthday gathering.
It was nice, Sophia sang the Mañanitas, and wanted Vavaff's (farfar - grandpa's) attention the whole night.

Did I tell you HM opened here?
Well, so HUGE news: HM opened here two weeks ago.
For everyone back home in Sweden - I understand that this is nothing special for you, but here it is an amazing addition to the shopping - there was nothing equivalent, especially not for children's clothes.
We have already bought several things there, I know Memo bought my birthday gifts there.

When I get a new phone - or smartphone - I will upload photos.
But for now you will have to do with some old ones.

Gran Kermess

We had a nice event today at the school, a Kermes, whatever that is.
There were stands all around school with food, games and alike, a dance show and lots of people.
Sophia got tired and we had to leave early. Since she woke up at 5.30 this morning she wasn't in the mood to be hanging around school for 11h.

It's weekend and it is time for my hair appointment, a birthday gift from Memo's mom.

Other than that I hope we will be doing absolutely nothing. The three of us are exhausted, and I really think we deserve some down time.

I took no photos of the event, nor of ordinary life this week - this is mostly due to us (i.e. Memo) leaving my phone on the kitchen counter of the apartment in Vallarta.
This means more attention to the baby of the family, which is great.

Good times

Life in Motion

So, it's about time again.

I remember the good old days when I used to have time to update this blog a few times a day.
That was a long time ago.

I think that I will be able to take more time for this again, having gotten into some kinda routine.

We live life, the best way we can - we enjoy it some days, others we suffer.

Sophia is doing great.

She is speaking more and more everyday. She repeats most things, and even says a few words alone:

mate - mat - food
agua/vavva - water
bi-bi - bil - car
ti-ti - tiger
pu-pu - Nalle Puh - Winnie the Pooh
kaka - cookie
glass - ice cream
koko - bok - book
fis - fisk - fish
mano - hand
potta - potty
ko - korv - sausage
nana - banan - banana

those are the ones I can think of now. Although, if you meet her, you will realize she constantly speaks, words no one but her understand.

She's diaper and pacifier free, and we will stop with the night time bottle (milk/välling) around christmas.

She is such a big girl now, only about a month and a half and she will turn 2.

What a surprise she is in for when she realizes she will be celebrating the big two with an Elmo (or as she says, MOMO) party.

Enough about the baby already, Memo and I are doing great.
Memo changed job and is now doing full time at an office, new for him and us. He still hasn't finished his thesis, but we hope he will soon.

I started working. Because of a million different reasons we decided to stay in Mexico.
We would have loved to be able to live in Europe, earn like Europeans, but it was too complicated to fix.
So we are here.
I am working as an English teacher for nursery children. Not at all what I thought I would be doing when deciding to study business, but here I am, and it's really nice.
I am sure a few of you are quite shocked, but we all change right.

That's enough of an update for now, anything I missed, or you want to know you know how to reach me.
