Storms and cuts

The weeks are passing faster and faster - which I always feel is the case when you want them to go slower. Right now I want the weeks to go slower because I have my statistics exam on the 15th. Now it's basic statistics, and I shouldn't have any problems passing it.... but there's a lot hanging on this. So I am a bit stressed.
The Chocolate ball

Stress = not good when you're pregnant. I have been feeling dizzy, nauseous, had headaches and sick for the past few days.
I even had to cancel classes yesterday.
Today my two first classes went well, and we even "baked" chokladbollar. Not bad!
My last class of the day didn't show up, it was supposed to start 45 min ago... sucks - money wise, but it's nice to be able to rest for a bit.

My days now are a bit crazy, up early to study (for preferably 3-4h), then start cooking, cleaning, getting ready, lunch, then classes until night time, then cook and then bed.

A lot of standing up and moving around for me, with my excruciating back pain.
I am pretty sure I have "foglossning" = SPD <- click it and become smarter!
It is painful, but how do you make people understand how painful it is - no clue!
But it f*ckin hurts, I try to avoid walking, standing up, moving from one side to the other, turn, turn in bed, EVERYTHING, it still hurts... like a knife in you hip-back-ass.
We're off to see the doctor next Friday so we'll see what he says, until now he's just said that it's because of how I sit and I don't know what - even if all symptoms point to the SPD thing - not that he would know, he never had any follow-up questions to me saying my back is killing me.

Anywho... I will watch some shows now to relax and then start with the "cooking".
Btw, today we made meatballs - or I made meatballs, Memo helped me making the köfte.

Oh, also, on Tuesday the weather was so bad we didn't have electricity for maybe 1-2h in total... kinda sucked cus it happened during my last class and the girl was not only scared of the storm (thunder) but also the dark. Oh well...

Change

People do not like change, they do not welcome it. You learn this in business school.
But come on, every time facebook changes some feature people start complaining.
Don't you see how stupid it is?

If facebook would still have looked and functioned the way it did when I started using it in early 2007 it wouldn't have been as successful as it is today.

Don't you see how pathetic it is to each and every time complain - wanting the "old" to return, even if you complained about what the "old" was a year or so ago!?
In a year from now you will sit there in front of your computers writing "angry" statuses about the new changes - how it was better before.

Come on...
It's free, you don't have to use it... the low intelligence status updates are getting on my nerves.

Change is always needed in order to improve our lives - learn to accept it.

Now on to studying.

Studying

Oh yes... I am back to studying.

As some of you might know I have one exam left on my degree - Business Statistics 1.
I was supposed to take the re-exam in August, but it had to be postponed until October - the 15th to be exact.
I started properly studying today - I will have 3 weeks to prepare, it should be more than enough. I just need to make sure that the exam will be structured the same way as the previous ones were.

This weekend we took it easy - had some quality time for ourselves.
Memo bought Sophia's "first" (except for Nastia's bunny) stuffed animal, and I didn't want to be worse, and bought one tiny Elephant rattle kinda thing and a Tiny purple-pink penguin toy - which Memo has kept in the car hanging from the mirror.

We also took a look at some cribs - not to buy, but to see how they work. Memo is designing the crib for Sophia, and we wanted to check out the features that it should have and how to make them.
We also showed his dad the stroller, and he seemed to like it. We have decided to get it in pink - mostly because we could not decide on a color - Memo wanted blue and I wanted purple.
Worlds best family

It was a true family weekend for us - we talked to everyone in my family, and we spent almost all day yesterday with his.

This post was procrastinating.

Enjoy

Already Tuesday!

Time passes so fast! It's already the end of September, and it's already Tuesday this week!
Classes started as usual, and today it's my favorite day; only 2½h of class!
I just finished preparing them, and sent off some documents to Memo so he can print them for me - verbs... the little girl asked for them.
I also sent off a few emails, one of which is an angry email to JIBS, lets see what it gives me.

Sophia seems to be doing good in there otherwise, kicking and moving a lot - which I assume is a good sign.

We have, as you might know, an ultrasound appointment on Friday. Hopefully we will be able to go, so we can see her in 3D: Yay!
I am excited, Memo is a bit scared! haha

"our" (mine, AK's, Fredrik's and Memo's) secret is becoming more and more real, but unfortunately I wont be able to tell you until mid-january about it.

Btw, it was baby Vincents birthday on Sunday.... he's a big boy now. 1 year old!

"Friday"

Tomorrow is off, so today is like a Friday.
As I said a few days ago, plans are to go to Vallarta. But traffic will be crazy, so we're not sure yet.

Today I woke up with a cold - no nice.

Not much fun has happened here, so the blog kinda sucks this week.
Maybe there will be more fun things to talk about next week.

I have 3 classes today, I hope they will come one time = leave on time. They're not that good at that usually.

....

OMG... a night without sleep.
Untill Memo went to work, 7.30 - he skipped gym today - I wasn't able to sleep.
I fell asleep around 8 am and woke up at 11...

Now I need to prepare classes and think about lunch.

Busy, busy

Hope you all had a great weekend... here I accomplished nothing, but was still busy.
The only thing I did, that I had planned to do was to go to the movies - we went to see "Horrible Bosses". I kinda liked it.
It made me laugh...

After the movies Memo's friends came over; it was nice... especially since I rarely get to have a conversation with someone above the age of 13, that isn't Memo.

We did nothing of the boring - grocery shopping etc....

We did find a stroller (Axis Infanti) we want to buy for Baby Sophia - it's awesome. Includes car seat, and it's possible to change it from sitting up to laying down (not at all common here), AND it turns 360 degrees. Hopefully we will get it this week... in purple - not blue.

Otherwise I went crazy on GAP and OldNavy.com today, they have sales.... So cute baby clothes. Sadly we're not rich, so my 400 Dollar cart will probably have to be emptied (: haha!

We also went to the doctor on Friday afternoon, and Sophia is growing as she should, the ultrasound picture is as bad as the last one, so I wont upload it. We have (again) booked an appointment for the 3D/4D ultrasound - hopefully it wont be cancelled this time - like 2 before. The appointment is for next week - this weekend we should be going to Vallarta again.

I am exhausted - will go prepare some food - we're having pizza tonight, homemade, the quick version. Take a tortilla, some tomato sauce, whatever topping and some cheese, and it's ready as soon as the cheese melted.

I miss home...

It's when I read articles like these two that I miss Sweden the most:

A travel story on Stockholm in the summer - can't go wrong:
http://edition.cnn.com/2011/TRAVEL/09/08/newnam.stockholm.trip/index.html?hpt=hp_c2

An Article about a drunk moose - top news in Sweden yesterday, that reached BBC today:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-14842999

You gotta love Sweden!

Right now I am still in bed - not sleeping thou, resting my back - and will start cooking and cleaning in about 30 min. I also need to prepare my classes a bit more. But first things first - enjoy the kicking of Sophia.

Love

The Countdown has Started

To the weekend - that is.

I was exhausted all day yesterday.
When you talk to pregnant people (you are not too close to), or read about it, you rarely get the idea that being pregnant kinda sucks at times.
I don't know how it was for "you" but;

*I can't sleep properly (Haven't slept for 8h straight for like a month). This is due - so far - of the bed being too small. It's not actually too small, but it is when I need to have a certain position to be able to sleep.

*Back Pain - my back is killing me.... it constantly hurts!

*Tired - I am always tired, I get easily tired after doing things

*Everything smells very strong

*Accept that the guy never really get's it that your pregnant...

*All the don'ts - Don't tan, Don't carry heavy things, Don't eat this, Don't drink that, Don't sleep like this, Don't, don't, don't, don't....

So what can you do when you're pregnant?

- Suck it up that you put yourself in the situation

- Enjoy the small things - the special parking spots for pregnant people, the fact that you don't have to carry things, the baby kicking, the extra attention

Don't get me wrong, I am very excited about Sophia, but there are days - like today, when I haven't slept well for a month, and when my back is killing me - that it's less nice!

Also, I would give anything for a nice cigarette and some wine right now, just FYI, but that's not happening anytime soon.

Life goes on...

Time passes fast some times...
It's already Wednesday and half of the working week is over.
Despicable Me (Single-Disc Edition)Classes are continuing, although the students don't seem to learn that much - maybe because I insisted on a non-homework policy, with the thought that if they want to learn they will look over the notes of the week anyways - fail!
Oh well, in the end I don't care that much... I am sure they retain something!
We're watching Despicable Me now... 10 min at a time with the "better" students, I am hoping that it will motivate them.

We ran out of gas yesterday, which kinda sucked since we need it both to cook and to heat the water = no dinner or lunch, and no showers.
I haven't taken time to check yet, but I hope Memo remembered to turn on the boiler again so that I can take a warm shower - the cold one yesterday sucked.

Have a nice day!

Short update

Vincent is now present in our living room!

So...

the weekend past fast - Too fast, obviously.
Yesterday afternoon???
Of course I was right about the ultrasound... I will try not to say anything about it.

Other than that disappointment, we went to a baby store. Supposedly it was going to be big and good and what not, none of which was true.
This country is starting to get on my nerves when it comes to baby related stuff - no maternity clothes (I am not joking), standard of baby stuff - low, having an ultrasound done - impossible? I am starting to consider going back to the civilized world with Sophia, to make sure that things will go well - I am not sure this place can be trusted - honestly.

We went around to different malls, did different things, kept busy...

I am so "degoutée" by things right now that that will be it for today...

ciao

Äntligen Fredag

Det är äntligen fredag - it's finally Friday!

As always I slept like crap - wouldn't even call it sleeping.
I am looking forward to some baby stuff shopping this weekend.
I had also been looking forward to see Sophia in a 4D ultrasound, but it seems like some ppl might have misunderstood something and that for the 4th time I will not be able to go - I am still hoping for the best thou. If that would be the case I will take matters into my own hands, because I don't see what could possibly be so complicated, we literary stood at the clinic once - cheapness was the reason for leaving that time.
Anywho... today I will rest, because I deserve it.

BonJour

Comment ca va?
Je m'appelle Helena. Comment tu t'appellles?

A new experience; 4 hyperactive 7-9 year olds, trying to sit down and learn a foreign language - in one small living room, and only poor little me there to supervise them.
It might not sounds that bad, but for some reason they feel comfortable around me, they are not shy, quiet, calm, like I was around new people when I was that age. They scream, move, fight, want to play with the Ipad, ask what the class will be like next week - my answer: why don't we see what we do today before thinking about next week was not good enough. After half an hour they were all standing up around the table, screaming what they do on mondays, when really I just wanted to teach them the word monday: lundi.
In the end we were supposed to play "our" game, and since I don't have dices I downloaded an app for the Ipad - HUGE mistake! Could they handle a dice application on the Ipad? No, one kid kept it for themselves, panic pressing the button to throw the dices - what for... I don't know.

Comment of the day was: I don't know.
Kids come up with random questions. Very random. Like, how does a French woman react if I ask her if she's 45 but actually she is 19?
Well, she would be offended - what else can I say!? More was expected, the whole table waited for a better explanation. So I said, I don't know - If I would ask your mom if she's 60 she probably wouldn't let you come to French class anymore, it would be the same with a French lady.
Another good topic was them checking my knowledge of the new cartoons of the Disney channel.
All while I try to keep them on track - learning French.

The French week is almost over now, only two classes left, and the girls are very calm. It will be nice.
